We created an interactive globe experience celebrating Sir David Attenborough's extraordinary broadcasting career, bringing together filming locations from across the world and spanning more than 70 years of natural history programming.
At the heart of the experience is a navigable 3D globe, allowing users to rotate the Earth, explore different regions and discover the places that have featured throughout Attenborough's remarkable career. By organising filming locations by series, users can delve into individual programmes, uncovering the locations associated with each and exploring the stories behind them.
Interactive map pins provide a gateway to further discovery, connecting geographical locations with the series and experiences that brought them to audiences around the world. The ability to distinguish between locations where Attenborough filmed in person and those where he contributed as a narrator adds another layer of context to the experience.
The result is an engaging, data-driven exploration of a lifetime dedicated to natural history and broadcasting. By combining interactive 3D visualisation, geographical data and intuitive navigation, we transformed a vast collection of filming locations into an experience that encourages curiosity, discovery and a deeper appreciation of Attenborough's global legacy.
